About Me

A bit about my background:

I'm the senior food editor at Yankee magazine and co-host of the national public television series, Weekends with Yankee. I'm also the food and dining contributor to WGBH Radio’s Under the Radar with Callie Crossley. Previously, I was food editor at Boston magazine and associate food editor at Sunset magazine.

I am a relative newcomer to watercolor painting, but I'd like to think I've gotten inspiration from my aunt Joan, who was a sculptor, painter, and teacher, and who did her best to pass on her love of art to all the children in her life.

With my first book, The Apple Lover's Cookbook, I was a finalist for the IACP Julia Child First Book Award and won an IACP Cookbook Award in the “American"category. I've appeared on such television programs as the Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family, Throwdown with Bobby Flay, Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares and The Martha Stewart Show.

I grew up in Connecticut and have lived in California, New Mexico, New Hampshire, and, now, Boston, Massachusetts. I love to paint, cook, read, and boat along the New England coast, but nothing beats hanging out with my husband, Scott, my son, Ollie, and our dog and two cats.
